Holy Father, the source of all breath and the earth beneath our feet.
Give this woman, who is returning to her body:
Courage to expand beyond the noise of her mind.
Let her release and inhabit the quiet, accessible sanctuary of her physical form.
When she feels the weight of old wounds,
Teach her to breathe.
Remind her that her body is not a project to be fixed,
Because she is made in the image and likeness of Christ – to be inhabited, honored, and known.
When the stressors of the world become too intense,
Let her hear the rhythm of her own heartbeat.
May she have the grace to listen to her fatigue without shame,
And trust the deep, slow knowing of her gut.
Help her to honor her “no’s” as holy, life-giving boundaries.
May you, this woman, feel the earth rising to meet your steps,
You are held with the steady, unwavering love of God.
Trust in the sighs, and goosebumps, and expansiveness of your body,
Knowing that every sensation and feeling is a messenger guiding you home.
Take up the space you were created to occupy.
Be strong and unshakeable.
In your softness, be set free.
Amen.
